Our Second Multistakeholder Meeting and Other News!

The anticipation is growing for our second multistakeholder meeting, slated for June 21, 2018 at the Institute on Governance in Ottawa from 1PM to 5PM. It is our intent to use this opportunity to build on the action items discussed at our last meeting.  The agenda will be dedicated to providing updates on progress since our last meeting and formulating working groups on device classification, network resilience, and consumer empowerment. We will also discuss ways to communicate more effectively.

If you have an interest in attending, please register here at your earliest convenience.  If you cannot attend in-person, we will be livestreaming the event to provide remote participants with the ability to ask questions throughout the afternoon.

As was the case with our last event, the Canadian Chapter of the Internet Society will host a reception for us at Sidedoor following the event. Information on this, the agenda, and other items will be updated on the Eventbrite as planning unfolds.

If you are new to our project and want to learn more, we recently hosted an introductory webinar that may be of some use to you. You can find a video of that session here.

We are also pleased to announce our Policy Advisor, Katie Watson, recently hosted a a two-hour round table session in Toronto with youth advocates to discuss IoT security issues. The outputs of this could prove useful to the larger multistakeholder group, particularly when considering how education may factor into improving the IoT ecosystem. For an in-depth description, please visit her blog post.

We look forward to seeing you at our next event!
